ABOUT THE ZEITZ FOUNDATION

The Zeitz Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Germany, headquartered in Kenya, and with representation in the United States and the United Kingdom. It was founded in 2008 by Jochen Zeitz, CEO Sport & Lifestyle Group and CSO of PPR and Chairman of the Board of PUMA. Inspired by the efforts of conservationists, scientists, and artists, and recognising the need for furthering connectedness and alliances around the world, Zeitz founded the organisation with the intention of inspiring and achieving the highest standards in sustainability through the balance of conservation, community, culture and commerce in privately
managed areas.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Foundation is to create and support sustainable, ecologically and socially responsible projects and destinations around the world to achieve long-lasting impact and sustainability through the holistic balance of conservation, community, culture and commerce (the 4C’s) in privately managed areas.

HOW DOES THE ZEITZ FOUNDATION SUPPORT THE LONG RUN?

The flagship initiative of the Zeitz Foundation is The Long Run. The Zeitz Foundation supports the network of Long Run Supporters, Long Run Alliance Members and Long Run Destinations by providing a platform for collaboration, innovation and learning amongst other benefits. Long Run Destinations, in particular, receive financial support through co-funding of 4Cs (conservation, community, culture and commerce) projects and via the Global Ecosphere Retreats® certification system; the Zeitz Foundation empowers them to achieve long-lasting impact in all 4Cs.
