Atopia Research Inc. Is a research and design organization that works globally to bring innovation, strategic thinking and design expertise to bear on some of the most intractable complex environmental and social issues that we encounter today.
Atopia Research Inc. works as ‘agent’, ‘activist’, and ‘social entrepreneur’ to define the ACTIONS that are necessary to promote and sustain renewal in urban and rural contexts, and the OBJECTS that articulate the relationship of constituencies to issues, leading to the assembly of new capacities and new skills.
The organization’s research has focused on a range of critical global issues and their interrelationships including: water and desertification, education and e-learning, health and HIV/AIDS, poverty, community development and sport, and micro-enterprise and the cultivation of food.
Projects developed by ATOPIA RESEARCH are multi-disciplinary in nature, and are designed to sustain cross-cutting initiatives through the construction of new networks and the development of new tools, prototypes and communication systems.
