<p>The first edition of the Laikipia and Beyond Unity Cup was an overwhelming success, with all ethnic groups present within Laikipia participated in the events in their thousands, either as spectators, contributors or players. Over 12,000 people received free medical treatment, primarily women and children, and permanent football pitches and other sports facilities were provided to four schools where no facilities previously existed.</p> <p>Throughout the whole event there was not a single disruptive incident either on or off the field, despite almost a thousand young men and women being brought together and living in close proximity, with thousands of their supporters attending. Players and the community also took part in a variety of peace, environmental and health activities.
